How to configure the brightness of the player according to the time of day

4YouSee Player in Windows and Linux versions allows you to define different brightness intensities according to the time of day. This feature is very useful for clients who operate our software on led panels or even for those who use it indoors.

We can do this configuration in different ways:

  • Accessing directly to the configuration screen in the player.
  • Using remote configuration through your account in 4YouSee Manager.

Setting the brightness control by the player

On the windows computer where you have the player already configured, access the player's configuration screen, for this click anywhere on the screen that the player covers and then on the red icon, as shown in the image below:

In the player configuration window that appears, go to the Brightness Control section, where two fields will be displayed. Intensity (1) and Time Start (2). The first is the intensity of the brightness that we want to apply, which can vary from 0 to 120, being that the lower the value, the darker the screen will be. The second is the time when the brightness defined in the previous field will be applied. To add the brightness settings, just click on the + button (3).

You can define as many brightness settings as you want. By adding a new brightness setting, the player validates the list of settings and applies the appropriate brightness intensity to the schedule and schedules the next brightness settings.

To remove any brightness setting, just click on the - (1) button in the table row. When deleting a configuration, the player analyzes the list of configurations again to apply the intensity of brightness appropriate to the schedule.

In the operations column, click on the Windows button (or Android, as the case may be) and then on 4YouSee Player Option (3).

On the screen you can see the same configuration options that are seen in the player. The data shown in this web is loaded by data sent from the player itself.

As in the player, in the Brightness Control section you will find the brightness settings. To add a new brightness setting, just fill in the fields of Intensity (1)Time Start (2) and click on the + button (3). To remove a brightness setting, you just have to click on the - (4) button in the corresponding row that you want to delete.

After finishing the settings, click on Save (5) for the changes to take effect in the player. These changes can take from 2 to 5 minutes to be noticed in the player.

Note: The brightness change setting is applied per day, for example, if the player has the following settings:

  • Brightness 80 from 7 a.m. to 12 a.m.
  • Brightness 120 from 12 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Brightness 80 from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
  • Brightness 0 from 11pm to 7am the next day.

Configuration must be done as follows:

  • 80 - 7:00
  • 120 - 12:00
  • 80 - 18:00
  • 0 - 23:00
  • 0 - 00:00
The setting "0 - 00:00" is needed so that the player understands that at the time "00:00" of the current day, the setting of brightness 0 must be applied, otherwise brightness 100 will be set automatically.
